Perry Hopkins is the Head Coach of the Girls Soccer team. Coach Hopkins has been coaching the WBHS Lady Govs Soccer team since 2017. Prior to his tenure at WBHS, Perry coached at Carpenters Middle School for three seasons and won two district championships. He has coached in some capacity since 2005.
The Lady Governors Soccer program has seen unprecedented levels of success under Hopkins. Before his staff arrived at William Blount in 2017, WBHS Girls Soccer had won 28 games in program history, dating back to 2005. In Perry’s four years, William Blount has won 29 games and made the program’s only district semifinal appearance in school history. Coach Hopkins was named District Coach of the Year in 2018.
Coach Hopkins is married to his wife of 18 years, Beth. They have 2 children: Blakely and Abbie, who are both students at William Blount. Perry works at Siemens Healthcare as a commodities manager. Outside of coaching, Perry enjoys fishing and traveling with his family.

As a program, our goal is for our players to graduate as strong, confident young women who possess the tools they need to move on to the next step in their lives. Whether or not that next step includes soccer, we want them to be confident in their abilities, both physically and mentally, and to understand that with hard work and discipline, they can accomplish anything.
