TITLE: Defensive Coordinator
Jeff Cortez is the Defensive Coordinator for the Govs. He was hired in the spring of 2022. Before becoming William Blount’s defensive signal-caller, he was the Head Coach at Lenoir City. Cortez, a California native, had previous head coaching stops in his home state at Village Christian (2007-10), Lancaster (2002-06) and Paraclete (2000-01) before moving to Tennessee.
His son, Brett, plays Quarterback for the Governors. Coach Cortez teaches PE at William Blount.
