William Blount Girls team racked up their first two wins of the season in the Bradley Central Thanksgiving Tournament.
WB took down Creekview (Canton, GA) 54 – 47, and Campbell (Smyrna, GA) 49 – 36 over the holiday weekend.
The team rebounded well after a string of losses to Campbell County, Bradley Central (49 – 38), and Hardin Valley (54 – 47) to start the season.
The girls are 2 – 3 as they start the week with Bearden tonight at 6:00PM
William Blount Boys started their season strong with 2 big wins over Campbell County (46 – 45), Bradley Central (62 – 47), and a district win over Hardin Valley (69 – 59).
The WB boy’s competed in the Heritage Thanksgiving Tournament and fell to Karns (70 – 64), and Grace Christian Academy (78 – 48).
Knox News has named 5 WB players as Knox Area high school boys top performers:
- Bret Boling had 12 points in the win over Hardin Valley
- Grant Reardon had 11 points in the win over Bradley Central
- Jeremiah Murrell has 12 points and five rebounds in the win over Hardin Valley
- Joseph Ridenour had 4 threes to make his 12 points in the win over Hardin Valley, and 14 points in the loss against Karns
- Josh DeArmond had 11 points, including 3 threes, in the win over Bradley Central
The Sports Page spotlight on Saturday 11/25 was on WB Boys Basketball – Coach Kevin Windle, Grant Reardon, and Joseph Ridenour were all interviewed.
